CX5000 系列設(shè)備是一種 DIN 導(dǎo)軌安裝式、無(wú)風(fēng)扇嵌入式 PC，帶與Beckhoff 總線端子模塊或 EtherCAT 端子模塊直接相連的直接接口。 與其它 CX 設(shè)備系列不同，CX5000 系列有固定數(shù)量的系統(tǒng)接口。 這一系列的外殼設(shè)計(jì)經(jīng)過(guò)優(yōu)化處理，堅(jiān)固耐用、結(jié)構(gòu)緊湊。 提供右側(cè)擴(kuò)展功能。 但是，通過(guò) EtherCAT 集成可實(shí)現(xiàn)各種擴(kuò)展能力。 其它主站/從站現(xiàn)場(chǎng)總線接口（ROFIBUS、CANopen、DeviceNet）或通訊接口（RS232，RS422/RS485）和通過(guò) EtherCAT 訪問(wèn)的所有其它信號(hào)類型可通過(guò) EtherCAT 直接與 EtherCAT 端子模塊連接。
CX5000 帶有兩個(gè)獨(dú)立的 Gigabit 以太網(wǎng)端口和四個(gè) USB 2.0 接口。 可以通過(guò) DVI 接口與 Beckhoff 控制面板或標(biāo)準(zhǔn) DVI 顯示器相連。 根據(jù)需要，也可添加一個(gè)串口（RS232/RS422/RS485）或具有主站或從站功能的現(xiàn)場(chǎng)總線接口作為一個(gè)可選的接口。
一塊位于蓋板后面并可從外部拆裝的可互換的 CF 卡作為引導(dǎo)和存儲(chǔ)介質(zhì)。 CX5000 系列還內(nèi)置了一個(gè) 1 秒鐘 UPS，可確保在 CF 卡上安全備份持久性應(yīng)用數(shù)據(jù)。 日期和時(shí)間通過(guò)可更換的電池緩存。
操作系統(tǒng)可以是 Windows CE 或嵌入式 Windows XP。 TwinCAT 自動(dòng)化軟件將 CX5000 系統(tǒng)轉(zhuǎn)換為一個(gè)功能強(qiáng)大的 PLC 和運(yùn)動(dòng)控制系統(tǒng)，無(wú)論在帶或不帶可視化功能的情況下都可進(jìn)行操作。
